Our contributors are volunteers who work together to advance the Black Stories Amplified mission. They work in concert with The Brown Bookshelf to continue the annual 28 Days Later celebration in February, during Black History Month. They also partner with The Highlights Foundation through initiatives that raise funds to build community and support educational opportunities for aspiring, emerging, and published Black children’s book creators. Our contributors take action to amplify the work and voices of Black creatives in the children’s book industry, by raising awareness and by providing resources not only for creatives, but for any individual or group with the desire build diverse bookshelves, foster literacy and empathy through books by and about Black people, put books that represent today’s world in the hands of young readers, hire Black authors and illustrators to speak or read at schools and events, or to join us as allies. The Black Stories Amplified members appreciate your support of our group, our contributors, and our work.
